  Home for Good Dogs is a wonderful rescue! Everyone we worked with was so dedicated and knowledgeable. We adopted our puppy from them and the process was straightforward and thorough. Having a puppy that was fostered by a family (pre-adoption) instead of a kennel gave her a head start in housebreaking, leash walking, socialization and training. We also appreciate that we weren't dismissed as potential adopters because we have young children - some rescues have age minimums that feel arbitrary and frustrating. Home for Good dogs looked at our family as a whole - we are previous dog owners and our children have always been around dogs - and weren't biased by their ages. It was about how our children were with the puppy, their behavior and comfort level, over their ages.
  
  I think some of the reviews on here are because people have unreasonable expectations and think that adopting a dog is like shopping for something on amazon... they see one they like online and "fall in love" and then get upset if it doesn't work out. I agree that it's very important to have reasonable expectations when adopting a pet and know that the rescues are being thorough for the protection of the dogs. They are looking for forever homes that would be a good fit and are putting the dogs first. It's important to be patient and understanding - it's more about finding the right dog and getting that cute dog online right now.
